Principal contractor for Yeovil town centre’s highly anticipated transformational refresh for public realm.

Creating a lasting legacy

Creating a lasting legacy

Alix was the first T-Level Work Placement for the region, studying Design, Surveying & Planning for Construction. Unable to drive, Alix struggled to find a suitable local placement and so the team created a programme that gave her experience of all of the region’s departments and sites for a well-rounded experience. Alix was also offered a contract extension going far above college minimum requirements. Taylor Woodrow was recognised as T-Level Employer of the Year at the college’s awards.

Florence's Street Clean Mission started when a local girl became frustrated at the amount of litter found on her nearest beach. Florence was diagnosed with ADHD and autism and finds litter picking gives her responsibility which massively improves her self-esteem. The entire Yeovil site team helped Florence and her family litter pick Yeovil Town Centre and collected 12 full bags in just 90 minutes.

The team has worked with local charity, The Gateway Community Centre on a number of projects. Initial efforts saw signage, cones and sandbags being supplied to support them in their volunteering efforts in becoming a COVID-19 vaccination clinic. Future plans include exploring ways to provide an outdoor space for the coffee shop which was entirely built by and is now run by volunteers.
