Key part of Britain’s renewable energy future and grid upgrade
The East Anglia TWO project is a key part of Britain’s renewable energy future and national grid upgrade. Delivered by Taylor Woodrow for ScottishPower Renewables, this development supports the UK’s transition to net zero by enabling clean offshore wind energy to be transmitted to homes and businesses across the country.
Located off the Suffolk coast, the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm will generate up to 1GW of electricity, enough to power nearly one million homes. Taylor Woodrow is responsible for the onshore substation works, a vital component in connecting offshore generation to the national grid.
This project is a cornerstone of the UK’s clean energy infrastructure, helping to decarbonise electricity generation while creating skilled employment and regional investment.
Key Features
- Substation for the new 1GW EA2 windfarm being constructed 30km off the Suffolk Coast in the Southern North Sea
- Highway and access improvements to support construction logistics and long-term operational access.
- Landscaping and environmental screening to integrate the substation into the surrounding countryside and reduce visual impact.
