Congratulations to Ryan Bostock, Assistant Engineer, for his marathon fundraising efforts!

Ryan Bostock, Assistant Site Engineer on our M4 Smart Motorway project, was one of over 40,000 people due to run the London Marathon on Sunday 26 April.

It was the latest in a series of fundraisers that he has carried out for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice, who provide vital end of life care and support all across his local county of Staffordshire and did everything they could to support his Grandad whilst he was fighting his battle with lung cancer.

After seeing how helpful and caring they were towards his Grandad and family, he wanted to give back and help the charity in any way possible. His fundraising events to date include the Three Peaks Challenge, a charity pub day, coffee and cake morning, the Manchester Half Marathon and a charity wax off.

On the Sunday when the Marathon should have taken place, Ryan woke up and decided that he just had to run it and created his own route from Newcastle-under-Lyme to Stone, then to Westport Lake in Stoke, where he has many fond memories with his Grandad. His marathon took four and a half hours and brings his fundraising total to almost 6k.

Huge congratulations to Ryan on such a fantastic achievement.
