M20 Junction 10A open for traffic

Our M20 junction 10A team recently opened up all slip roads of the new junction for traffic.

This is a key milestone for Highways England and enables the scheme to start delivering its benefits of providing additional capacity and reducing congestion; both for local journeys and inter-continental traffic travelling to and from Dover.

The new junction also allows the delivery of residential regions and employment within the Ashford growth area. Assessments have shown that during construction, the scheme has created an average of 205 jobs per year (with 60% locally supplied), and it will enable economic development to support a further 4,500 permanent jobs for the wider Kent economy over 30 years.

Well done to the team for achieving this major milestone! Landscaping is now taking place and the scheme is due for completion in summer 2020.
