VINCI Construction UK awarded Investors in Diversity status

VINCI Construction UK has officially been awarded Investors in Diversity Level 2 status, becoming the largest private sector company in the UK to attain such an accolade.

The presentation took place at Astral House, the company’s head office in Watford, on Tuesday 17 July.

To mark the achievement Solat Chaudhry, Chief Executive of the National Centre for Diversity presented a plaque to Andrew Ridley-Barker, Managing Director, VINCI Construction UK in the presence of other members of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team which is headed up by Tony Raikes, Managing Director of VINCI Facilities.

Mr Chaudry said: “I would like to extend my congratulations to VINCI for achieving the Investors in Diversity award. It is fantastic to see an organisation the size of VINCI, which is such a key player in the UK construction industry, wholeheartedly embracing the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion.”

The Investors in Diversity Award is given to organisations that take a structured and well-planned approach to equality and diversity, whilst understanding the different needs of stakeholders.

Following an extensive period of assessment and interviews, VINCI Construction UK is now the largest private sector organisation in the UK to hold the credential and by far the largest within the construction sector.

Speaking of the success, Colin Jellicoe, HR Director, said: “The achievement of the Investors in Diversity standard is a major milestone for us and will bring many benefits. An inclusive approach to managing our teams will improve retention levels, aid recruitment and help us to attract people from a wider talent pool, all of which will increase our competitive advantage and help position us as an employer of choice.”
