Taylor Woodrow has completed the UK’s first all-ages, all abilities City Academy in Northolt, west London. The new building was designed by award-winning architect Lord Foster.

The Academy has a Sports and Enterprise specialism, and is supported by a private sponsor, Sir Alec Reed, chairman of Reed Executive plc.

The vision for the Academy is to provide a truly inspirational place to come to learn, and the innovative design reflects this.

The ambitious new school will provide an all-ages academy, from nursery through to primary and secondary, and Special Educational Needs. For the first time pupils with physical and complex learning difficulties will be able to share in the rewards of the Government’s ambitious City Academy programme.

The scope of construction work comprises the demolition of the existing Compton High School and Sports College, John Chilton School and Northolt Primary School and Nursery, and the construction of the new site infrastructure and the 15,000m2 new two-storey All-Age City Academy building including all mechanical and electrical services, external works including floodlit all weather pitch, and the installation of the fixed furniture and equipment.
