Project Case Study - King's Cross Western Ticket Hall
Maintaining safe and unrestricted operation of one of the busiest underground stations in London and two principal mainline stations during construction posed the greatest ongoing challenge to this complex project.

The replacement without a hitch of 47m of the Metropolitan and Circle lines over 13 weekend possessions and similar success in replacing the roof of the Thameslink tunnel in just a single 5 day possession were great achievements.

However, they were only two examples of how the project team rose to the challenge of completing substantial new works in between listed structures, main roads, live railways, operational stations and many diverse underground utilities.

“In my experience, it is not often that the senior management on projects really muck in and get their hands dirty – although they do like to talk about it. In your case, to effectively cancel Christmas to then work every shift from possession on Christmas Eve to successfully placing the new roof is exemplary and I congratulate you on the professional manner in which the job was planned, managed and executed and the remendous example set" - Project Manager Infraco SSL

The project initially comprised diversions of major gas, water and electrical services in and around Kings Cross and St Pancras stations. These works facilitated the construction of a new underground ticket hall under the St Pancras station forecourt and the complete reconstruction of the existing Kings Cross underground ticket hall. New mobility impaired persons (MIP) access was incorporated throughout.

Project Case Study - King's Cross Western Concourse
The massive redevelopment at King's Cross station has reached a key milestone  as Network Rail announced that Taylor Woodrow are their preferred bidder for the Western Concourse works.

Our Managing Director, Tim Peach commented: "This is a strategic success for us as a business. We are delighted to be back at King's Cross following the successful completion of the Western Ticket Hall. Rail is a key market for the skills, behaviours and experience of our team, and our supply chain partners, gained from current and previous rail projects."
