Tesco Partnership

Tesco Store

Within Taylor Woodrow, we are uniquely placed to support our customers operating in this fast changing market; a strength based on experience, a diverse project base combined with a drive to deliver innovation into the sector as a whole.

Our relationship with Tesco has evolved during its 25 year lifespan into a true partnership, which has delivered projects with a combined value approaching £1 billion. This fact alone stands testament to our experience, ability and customer focused ethos.

With Tesco, we work in all areas of their programme; new build stores, two floor trading, extensions, refurbishments, distribution centre work and mixed use projects, with a combined turnover of £100m. The largest value project is easy to define, a new combined distribution centre with a contract value of £56m.

The most challenging is much more difficult; a new build 80,000 square ft replacement store with a 16 week programme from steel to practical completion, a two floor trading project which includes replacement of all roof steelwork whilst not closing a single trading area of the store so keeping disruption (loss of sales) to an absolute minimum or construction of a new community centre as Phase 1 of a mixed use project in London.

Each in many ways unique in terms of the construction challenge; all having the same goal of delivering what Tesco want (budget: time) to support their overall business objectives (growth: customer satisfaction).
