The NewHospitals consortium led by Taylor Woodrow and Innisfree has been awarded one of the largest PFI projects in the last 10 years.
“Demolition of the old Victorian buildings on both sites can now begin, making way for new, modern and state of the art healthcare facilities, which is great news for the local community.” Chief Executive of St Helens and Knowsley Hospitals NHS Trust
The scheme will deliver two new hospitals at St Helens and Whiston, providing the local community with modern health services. NewHospitals is a group of specialist companies, including: Taylor Woodrow Construction, Medirest, Taylor Woodrow Facilities Management, GE Medical Systems, Innisfree and Health Care Projects.
In addition to undertaking the construction, we will undertake maintenance and lifecycle replacement works over a period of 30 years. A key part of the construction will be the inclusion of offsite assembled panel systems to the external building facades, which will reduce waste and enhance safety, quality and the speed of erection.
