We have a very close working relationship with the York Archaeological Trust (YAT) who have a keen interest in the site. All excavations are attended by a YAT field engineer who carries out a watching brief.
Specific areas of interest are identified e.g. underground car park phase 1- phase 2 link tunnel excavations, and works suspended to allow Archaeologists to carryout detailed excavation, record detailed findings and recover any relics or items of archaeological/heritage interest.
All involved with the Project (Client, Principal Contractor (TWC),Subcontractors and YAT are committed to Incident & Injury Free Working (IIF).All members of the team attend a 4hour Orientation Course within the first two weeks of commencement on site. This propagates a culture of caring for each others well being and has reflected in an excellent safety record onsite.
