Baker Street station has been identified by the ODA as a strategic transport interchange for the London Olympic Games in 2012. The significance of the station has resulted in a requirement to provide step free access to the sub surface lines.
Using their supply chain, Taylor Woodrow have created a design team of architects and multi-disciplinary team of engineers (civil, structural, geotechnical, electrical, mechanical, fire and communications) with construction, cost and buildability input from Taylor Woodrow; all with experience of London Underground assurance and meeting of engineering standards as well as those for S&SD, and familiar with working on Heritage buildings.
Deliverables include the RIBA stage C&D design documents, technically assured Conceptual Design Statements (for approval in principle), fire strategy documentation, compliance statements, assurance plans, WPE and various other specific documents that completely fulfil the requirements of London Underground’s standard, E1008.
Taylor Woodrow have successfully delivered the scheme for the Metropolitan line platforms, and are now undertaking further work for integrating the Hammersmith & City and Circle Lines platforms.
Current site works include detailed intrusive surveys to validate ongoing design and provide data for the Phase 3 designs.
