My specialisms include ecological management, energy and sustainable materials consultancy. In addition, I manage R&D projects (both internally and government funded) related to sustainable materials and waste management. Environmental management responsibilities include assisting sites with environmental management systems and conducting audits.

In a growing area of the business such as environmental management there is both a great variation of disciplines to develop and the need for a consistently innovative approach to problem solving.  For example, with the recent introduction of the Code for Sustainable Homes, I have been working on new carbon efficient house specifications that meet the challenging Code requirements.

I have recently published my first peer reviewed paper, which focuses on how outsourcing processes in businesses to specialist service providers, can improve process efficiency and lower resource use. A more sustainable approach!
