Quantity Surveyors oversee all of the costs involved in a project, including materials. Their work includes creating budget estimates, advising on what a client can afford to build, dealing with legal matters and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors. Some Quantity Surveyors can go on to become Commercial Managers.
One of our students tells us a little about being on the Taylor Woodrow team:
Preeya Patel, 2nd year Commercial Management & Quantity Surveying student
“The support is excellent. I have a mentor and I'm also assigned to a graduate who knows the ins and outs of the sponsored student programme; they're a great source of advice on all kinds of subjects including placements.
Working on site is the most enjoyable thing for me - getting to know people and how everyone works together to make a project successful. The team building weeks are fun too!”
