Earls Court station is Grade II listed and London Underground wished to conserve all those features which were representative of the station's history where they were still relevant to current usage.

Of special note was the restoration of the Earls Court Faience Facade and the Victorian glazed shed roof.

The scope of work was varied and included restoration, refurbishment, new accommodation and ticket hall with retail facilities.

The design objectives were to create a calm, welcoming environment where people feel safe, providing good access for all users, ensuring ease of maintenance and repair to achive longevity in the design and materials.

These objectives were achieved by specifying a limited range of readily available materials with suitable properties of performance and fire safety

King's Cross Revisited

The massive redevelopment at King's Cross station has reached a key milestone as Network Rail announced its preferred bidder for the western concourse is Taylor Woodrow.
